Generally, it is considered that the high season is in winter, from May to November, because the quantity of rain is lower and the temperatures are more pleasant. The summertime (December to April) is considered the low tourist season due to the more frequent rainfall and for the fact that then is also the cyclone season, characterized sometimes by strong winds. However, a cyclone occurs usually once per year and rarely hits the larger islands, crossing commonly the isolated parts of the country where lye uninhabited islets.
